Clear information about BAC Colombia products, laboratory documentation, ordering, shipping, commercial supply, and Research Use Only status.
This page provides general information about BAC Colombia and its Research Use Only products. Product-specific composition, testing, documentation, and regulatory status should be confirmed using the applicable label and published documentation.
General
Background information about bacteriostatic water and BAC Colombia.
What is bacteriostatic water?
“Bacteriostatic water” is a term commonly used for water containing an antimicrobial preservative, often benzyl alcohol. “Bacteriostatic” means that microbial growth may be inhibited under defined conditions; it does not mean that contamination has been eliminated or that every product described as bacteriostatic water has identical specifications.
The exact composition, available testing, and regulatory status should always be confirmed from the documentation for the specific product. BAC Colombia products are offered exclusively for Research Use Only (RUO).
What makes BAC Colombia different?
BAC Colombia focuses specifically on bacteriostatic water for Research Use Only. We make available product and lot-specific documentation so customers can review the information associated with identified products and production lots before purchasing.
Why does BAC Colombia publish laboratory documentation?
We believe customers should have access to meaningful product information. BAC Colombia publishes available lot-specific laboratory documentation to promote transparency and help customers review the documentation associated with identified products and production lots.
Where is BAC Colombia located?
BAC Colombia operates in Colombia and ships nationwide.
Products
Available presentations and product-specific documentation.
What product presentations are available?
BAC Colombia currently offers the following presentations:
- 3 mL
- 10 mL
- 30 mL
Current availability is displayed on the BAC Colombia product collection.
How can I determine whether documentation applies to my product?
Compare the lot number and product or presentation identifiers shown on the product label with those identified in the published documentation.
Do not assume that a report applies to a different lot or presentation unless that relationship is explicitly documented. Laboratory documentation applies only to the products, samples, presentations, and lot identifiers stated in the applicable report.
Is product availability updated regularly?
Current product availability is displayed on the BAC Colombia website. For larger or recurring orders, please contact our team directly to confirm current availability.
Laboratory Documentation
How to find and interpret the reports currently published by BAC Colombia.
Is independent laboratory documentation available?
BAC Colombia publishes available third-party laboratory documentation associated with identified production lots.
Visit the Independent Testing & COAs page to review the documentation currently available.
Can I view a Certificate of Analysis?
Available Certificates of Analysis and supporting laboratory documentation can be viewed on the Independent Testing & COAs page.
Customers should confirm that the product, presentation, sample, and lot identifiers in the report correspond with the product being reviewed.
What analyses may appear in the available reports?
Depending on the identified lot and the documented testing scope, available reports may include analyses such as:
- Appearance
- pH
- Benzyl alcohol concentration
- Sterility analysis
- Bacterial endotoxins
- Selected elemental impurities
The available analyses may vary. Readers should consult the report itself to determine what was analyzed, which methods were used, and what results were reported.
Does a laboratory report prove that a product is sterile?
A laboratory report documents the result obtained from the identified sample under the methods and conditions stated in the report.
The presence of a sterility analysis should not be converted into a broader claim about products, lots, or presentations not explicitly covered by the documentation.
Are previous laboratory reports available?
Available current and historical documentation may be published for reference. Historical reports apply only to the identified sample and lot and should not be treated as documentation for current inventory.
Lot Documentation
Traceability, lot identifiers, and the scope of published information.
What is a production lot?
A production lot is an identified quantity of product assigned a shared lot number for traceability. The meaning and scope of that identifier should be interpreted using the applicable production and product documentation.
Why is lot documentation important?
Lot documentation helps connect an identified product or sample with the laboratory information associated with the stated lot number.
Customers should use the identifiers shown on the product label and within the published report rather than assuming that documentation applies broadly to other lots or presentations.
How often is documentation updated?
BAC Colombia publishes available lot-specific laboratory documentation on its Independent Testing & COAs page.
Because lots, testing scopes, and available reports may change, customers should consult that page for the current documentation.
Can I download the available laboratory documentation?
Where available, BAC Colombia publishes summary documentation and supporting laboratory files on the Independent Testing & COAs page.
